Education (Public and Private Schools k-12, Colleges and Universities)
Corporate / Private Sectors (including Corporate Campuses)
The reality is - we are inundated with news of great loss and tragedy on a daily basis. Whether man-made or natural - the need for our technology has never been greater than it is today.
There are a wide range of technologies on the market to address public safety - such as cameras, door access controls, metal detectors, silent alarms and panic buttons, etc., - however, these assets have not been as effective as they could be in emergency situations because there was no way to visualize and track all these assets together under one “common operating picture” - until now. Layers & Legends offers technologies which give building personnel the ability to communicate and share accurate information with responding agencies.
Local, state, federal and private funding sources are available for building safety and security - a savings for the customer on their insurance premiums as their risk management improves. With the Public Safety and Security market projecting to grow from USD $365 Billion in 2020 to USD $516 Billion in 2025, a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.2% using the forecasted period - Layers & Legends is prepared to benefit from this growth curve.
Layers & Legends management stands behind our proven technology and our mission to provide critical information to our 1st Responders. Thank you.
The safety and security of people and places.
What We Do
Layers & Legends provides 1st responders with in-building and area-wide situational awareness. The technology gives them the ability to rapidly identify active threats and hazards - en route and at a scene. This helps maximize response efforts – and most importantly, helps save lives and minimize property damage.
The platform gives property owners and management a secure way to communicate and share accurate information under one “common operating picture” with responding agencies.
The Layers & Legends emergency enhanced geographic information system is designed to heighten the safety and security of schools k-12, colleges, universities, houses of worship, hospitals, and their campuses.
How We Do It
Layers & Legends digitizes critical in-building information to personalize, track, store and share with administrators, maintenance personnel, utility companies, local and state fire and police, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This is known as a “common operating picture” which is viewed on a map.
Layers & Legends’ state-of-the-art map-based interface provides emergency responders with near real-time, location-specific situational awareness - to better enhance response times to man-made and natural disasters.
Layers & Legends provides a simple and intuitive way to view area-wide - campusLegendsSM - to specific in-building floor plans and critical assets - siteLegendsSM - as well as other areas of interest within your campus infrastructure.
These multifaceted technologies provide emergency responders with all the tools necessary for preparation, mitigation, response and recovery of life and property.
Designed to heighten building security.

We send our children to school - a place where they spend a great deal of time. A place where they now feel vulnerable due to the many acts of violence taking place most days. This year there were at least 149 incidents of gunfire on school grounds, resulting in 32 deaths and 94 injuries nationally.
It’s been two decades since the Columbine shooting and nine years since twenty 1st grade children - ages six and seven - and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary. In 2007, the deadliest school shooting in history took place at Virginia Tech killing 32 students and faculty members and wounding 17 more. Valentines Day 2018, 17 students and staff were killed, and 17 injured at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Parkland, Florida. Threats, and incidents of violence in American schools have become more frequent and severe.
The technology to make life-or-death decisions for first responders, or stop evil from striking again, does not exist. However, there is technology that can give our first responders the current and accurate information they need - when they need it - to help make those difficult decisions, and take the necessary actions for the safety and security of those in danger.
No child should live in fear. Their safety and security is paramount - anything less is unacceptable. Investing in our location-based geographic information system will enhance technologies currently being utilized in schools to help create a safer environment.
The message is simple. Society must take the initiative to bring public safety into the 21st century and protect our children and teachers in public and private schools, colleges, universities and religious schools.“It takes a village.”
